Carissa Grant brings a great amount of professional experience as she is an entrepreneur, grant writer for Emory University and Hospital, skin care consultant, and most importantly mother and wife. 

MATTHEW ROBINSON

Mentoring Program

Matthew Robinson is a school leader, social activist, and creative with a demonstrated history of high-quality performance in K-12 teaching, educational leadership, curriculum design, arts integration, and youth mentorship. He currently serves as a Curriculum Specialist and Artist-in-Residence at a state charter school. He is also a Program Director with the Encampment for Citizenship located in Aptos, California and teaches youth with Breakthrough Atlanta as a Program Facilitator.

Matthew holds a B.A. in International Studies from Morehouse College and a M.S. in Educational Policy Studies from Georgia State University. He is currently pursuing additional graduate studies at the University of Georgia as a doctoral student in their Educational Theory and Practice program. He is passionate about fine arts, social justice, youth development, and all that comes with diversity, equity, and inclusion.

He is the proud founder of the Natural Essence Dance Team and TETRIS Mentoring Program.

Community Partnerships

Rosannette is an accomplished Public Relations Professional, Motivational Speaker, College Recruiter, Teacher, Entrepreneur, and most recently elected Councilwoman for the city of Lovejoy in Georgia.  She is a recognized and respected pillar in her communities. Her strengths lies in building solid client relationships and partnerships, creative campaigns and programming, keeping with the latest trends in education and strategic planning that scores top media placement for her clients. She holds an Masters of Art degree in Business Finance, a Bachelor of Art degree in Criminal Justice , and several other professionally related certificate endorsements. She was awarded the National Honor of: “Woman of Excellence in 2016”. She is a graduate of the Atlanta and Clayton County Grassroots Leadership Class of 2018.

Rosannette has a passion for equality education and her mission places an emphasis on the value of education by giving a chance to the youths in various communities in Atlanta, New York City, and her home country of Antigua and Barbuda, hoping that the youth she supports will make an impact to our future generation.

Curriculum 

Felicia Napier Johnson is a retired educator of 35 years with Dekalb County Schools and the author of the children’s book, “I’m Compassionate! Are You?” She is the founder of the company A Shining Light that focuses on teaching children to become virtuous people through storybooks and apparel. Her goal is to provide knowledge and guidance for children to make good decisions as they practice and demonstrate life virtues. She believes if children have this character trait, it will have an extraordinary impact on their lives and the lives of people around them. To make this world a better place, we must start with teaching our children what matters the most; life virtues!

JoAnn Montford is an artist and native of Atlanta. She attended Georgia State University where she studied Fine Art and Sciences and developed her passion for Graphics and Design. She is an independent contractor for CDI Incorporated where she works with major corporations as a marketing consultant to help create images and brands that are unique to each company. JoAnn thrives on professional challenges that consistently encourages new ideas to develop and strategies to implement for personal and professional skill growth opportunities.

TERRY DEAN

Athletic Program

Our beloved  Coach Terry Dean left us to become an ancestor June, 2020.

Our hearts were touched by his commitment to children and the community he inspired and served so very well .

The Village Tutorial and Enrichment Program promises to keep his legacy and vision for children cognizant in the community.

We will do this with the establishment of a sports scholarship in Coach Dean's honor. The Village Tutorial and Enrichment Program will make a special announcement of this scholarship, January 2024.

Terry L. Dean is originally from Wichita, Kansas, but has lived in Atlanta, Georgia for the past 5 years. He has acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Business/ Organizational Management and Leadership and a Master’s degree in Psychology.  Currently, Terry is working on a second Master’s degree in Secondary Education.  Terry has worked with children and families for over 27 years with mentoring or sports coaching and has taught middle school for 4 years. In his spare time, Terry works with several youth groups as a mentor. Before  becoming a teacher, Terry worked 18 years for Boeing aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. His hobbies are singing, cooking, and is an avid Sports fanatic!
